To say Joan Smith & the Jane Does have paid their dues would be an understatement. Total pros, road warriors and the best damn live show around – they’re a walking rock ’n roll party with a mean streak that would make Alison Mosshart blush.
Debut full-length Do Me Some Harm – produced by guitarist Tom Juhas and mixed by Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, PJ Harvey, Chris Cornell) – was their coming-out party. But it was EP Normalize that introduced them to the world. Boasting dance-floor burner “You’re So Mine”, fuzzy hair-raiser “Choose Her Death” and the white-hot furious title track, the initial run sold out in short fashion and is long out-of-print. Fortunately, Joan Smith & the Jane Does have teamed up with Cartridge Heart to bring Normalize back to physical media with a freshly remastered reissue.
Normalize returns on April 25.
